What is Vacuum Bagging?

Vacuum bagging is a composite manufacturing technique that uses vacuum pressure to compress materials between a mold tool and a vacuum bag.

This process enhances the fiber-to-resin ratio, improving the mechanical properties of the final product.

By creating uniform pressure, vacuum bagging removes trapped air, reduces humidity, and stabilizes fiber orientation during curing.

This results in stronger, more precise composite parts and is widely adopted in industries requiring high-performance materials.

Release Film

With an advantage on slitting, release film is a kind of polymer plastic film with smooth surface, high cleanliness, transparent uniformity and low shrinkage. It aims to separate vacuum auxiliary materials and products, ensure the uniform fluidity of resin in the vacuum infusion processing and is widely used in unsaturated, vinyl, epoxy resin and other systems.

What Types of Vacuum Bagging Are There?

Vacuum bagging is commonly used in two main applications

Vacuum Bagging Resin Infusion
This method involves drawing resin into the reinforcing fibers under vacuum pressure. The resin infusion process ensures consistent resin distribution, reducing voids and enhancing the mechanical properties of the composite.

Vacuum Bagging for Prepregs or Wet Lay-Up
In this approach, vacuum pressure is applied to pre-impregnated fibers (prepregs) or wet lay-up laminations to remove trapped air, compress layers, and improve the fiber-to-resin ratio during curing. It is ideal for applications requiring precision and strength.

Breather

Breather, a non-woven material with good air permeability, can maintain a stable state at high temperature. It discharges the bubbles produced in the resin curing process and absorb the excess resin in the vacuum bagging process (wet process).
